Brooklyn Cruz

Brooklyn Cruz serves as a Program Officer I with the State of Nevada’s Treasurer’s Office. Living in Las Vegas for over a decade, she is a product of the Clark County School District and Nevada System of Higher Education. A proud recipient of the Governor Guinn Millennium Scholarship, Brooklyn received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Reno, followed soon by her Master of Arts in Urban Leadership from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Helping others break barriers and overcome obstacles to take themselves to the next level has always been the driving passion behind what Brooklyn does. She has multiple years of experience serving her community vocationally in housing, K-12, and higher education, helping people build networks and interpersonal skills to be their own best advocate. Additionally, she works on a volunteer basis with various non-profit organizations in the city. Brooklyn believes that everyone, no matter the age, deserves equitable access to education, and there is always a chance to learn something new.

Brooklyn enjoys spending time with her friends and family. You can often find her dancing, trying a new restaurant, or traveling. She loves technology and media, and is always looking for a fun hobby to try!
